A crowd-pleasing party bread stuffed with mozzarella and parmesan, soaked in garlic butter, and baked until golden and melty.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Italian bread (about 16 oz)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the bread into 1-inch slices, but do not cut all the way through the bottom crust.
  3. In a bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
  4. Brush the garlic butter mixture between each bread slice.
  5. Stuff mozzarella and parmesan cheese between the slices.
  6. Wrap the loaf in foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for 10 more minutes until golden and cheese melts.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • Use a serrated knife to slice the bread evenly without tearing.
  • For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes after baking.
  • Substitute with gluten-free bread if needed.
