A nostalgic 1980s Midwest salad with taco-seasoned beef, Catalina dressing, and Nacho Cheese Doritos. Perfect for potlucks and weeknight dinners.

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Catalina dressing
  • 1 bag Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed
  • 1/2 cup black olives, sliced
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add taco seasoning and water as directed on the packet. Simmer for 5 minutes, then let cool.
  3. In a large bowl, layer lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, olives, and green onions.
  4. Top with the cooled taco meat and drizzle with Catalina dressing.
  5. Just before serving, add crushed Doritos and toss gently to combine.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use ground turkey and low-fat cheese.
  • To avoid sogginess, add Doritos right before serving.
