A quick and easy honey garlic salmon recipe with a savory glaze, perfect for a weeknight dinner. You can pan-sear or bake this salmon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking, or heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat if pan-searing.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  4. If baking: Place salmon on a baking sheet. Spoon half of the glaze over the fillets. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Spoon the remaining glaze over the salmon during the last few minutes of baking.
  5. If pan-searing: Place salmon skin-side down in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip the salmon and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Pour the glaze over the salmon and let it simmer and thicken for 1-2 minutes, spooning it over the fish.
  6. Check for doneness: The internal temperature should reach 125°F (52°C) for medium-rare.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To thicken the glaze further, you can simmer it in a small saucepan over low heat for a few minutes until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • This salmon pairs well with steamed rice and a side of your favorite greens.
  • For a complete meal, consider this a healthy high-protein dinner option.
