Ingredients

  • 6 cups peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Toss apples with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Spread in a 9-inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle topping over apples. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm apples to prevent mushiness.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350°F for 10 minutes.
