Make crispy, golden french fries at home with this easy air fryer recipe. Perfect for a healthier take on a classic comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large Russet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes. Cut them into 1/4-inch thick fries.
  2. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps make them crispier.
  3. Drain the potatoes thoroughly and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
  4. In a bowl, toss the dried potato fries with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5-7 minutes, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Russet potatoes are best for frying due to their high starch and low moisture content.
  • For extra crispiness, you can soak the potatoes for up to 2 hours, changing the water once.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model and the thickness of your fries.
  • Consider adding other seasonings like paprika or garlic powder for extra flavor.
