Learn how to make delicious, crispy chicken wings at home in just 50 minutes. This recipe is perfect for game day or any casual gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This is crucial for crispy skin.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes, then flip the wings and bake for another 25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  7. Add the hot sauce, white vinegar, and minced garlic to the melted butter. Stir to combine and heat through for about 5 minutes. Do not boil.
  8. Once the wings are done baking, transfer them to a large bowl.
  9. Pour the hot sauce mixture over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, you can broil them for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce and vinegar to your spice preference.
  • Consider using a meal planning service to easily incorporate these wings into your weekly menu.
