A comforting and delicious grilled sandwich perfect for using leftover turkey, featuring melty cheese and tart cranberry sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices hearty bread
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 4 ounces sliced cooked turkey
  • 2 ounces Swiss or cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cranberry sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh spinach (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  2. On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the turkey, cheese, spinach (if using), cranberry sauce, and mustard (if using).
  3. Top with the other bread slice, buttered side up.
  4. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  5. Place the sandwich in the skillet and grill for 3-5 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  6. Slice in half and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a crispier sandwich, lightly toast the bread before assembling.
  • Use your favorite type of bread, such as sourdough or rye.
