Ingredients
Scale
1 package (3.4 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
2 cups milk
1 package (14.3 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
12 oval-shaped cookies (like Milano or Nilla wafers)
Black decorating icing
Gummy worms (optional)
Candy pumpkins (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the pudding: Whisk the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk in a bowl until thickened, about 2 minutes. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Make the ‘dirt’: Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
Assemble the cups: Spoon the chocolate pudding into 6 individual serving cups or small bowls.
Add the ‘dirt’: Sprinkle a generous layer of the crushed cookie crumbs over the pudding in each cup.
Create the tombstones: Use the black decorating icing to write ‘RIP’ on each oval cookie.
Place the tombstones: Gently insert one decorated cookie into the ‘dirt’ of each pudding cup, standing it upright.
Add decorations: If desired, add gummy worms crawling out of the ‘dirt’ or place candy pumpkins around the tombstones.
Chill: For best results, chill the graveyard pudding cups for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
If using homemade pudding, ensure it is completely cooled before assembling the cups.
Store gummy worms separately if refrigerating for an extended period to prevent them from becoming hard.
These cups are best assembled a few hours before serving to keep the cookie tombstones from softening too much.
