Create spooky graveyard or pumpkin patch dirt cups for your Halloween party. This no-bake dessert features chocolate pudding and crushed Oreos, with options for easy assembly and transport.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
  • Optional: Candy pumpkins, candy tombstones, Milano cookies for tombstones, gummy worms

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding: Whisk the pudding mix and milk in a bowl until thickened, about 2 minutes. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the pudding until combined.
  3. Crush the cookies: Place the chocolate sandwich cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them into coarse crumbs using a rolling pin or the bottom of a glass.
  4. Assemble the cups: Spoon a layer of crushed cookies into the bottom of clear plastic cups or small jars.
  5. Add pudding: Spoon a layer of the pudding mixture over the cookie crumbs.
  6. Repeat layers: Add another layer of cookie crumbs, followed by another layer of pudding.
  7. Decorate: Top with a final layer of cookie crumbs. Add candy pumpkins, Milano cookie tombstones, or gummy worms to create a graveyard or pumpkin patch scene.
  8. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the layers to set.

Notes

  • For a quicker dessert, use premade chocolate pudding.
  • To make ahead, assemble the cups up to the pudding layer and refrigerate. Add the cookie crumbs and decorations just before serving to prevent sogginess.
  • For transport, secure the lids tightly and place the cups in a sturdy container or baking dish to prevent tipping.
  • If Milano cookies are used for tombstones, you can write epitaphs on them with edible marker.
