Ingredients
Scale
2 oz whiskey or bourbon
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp honey
4–6 oz hot water
Optional: cinnamon stick, lemon slice, or cloves for garnish
Instructions
Warm a mug by filling it with hot water and letting it sit for a minute, then discard the water.
Pour the whiskey or bourbon into the warmed mug.
Add the fresh lemon juice and honey to the mug.
Fill the mug with hot water, leaving a little space at the top.
Stir gently until the honey is dissolved.
Garnish with a cinnamon stick, a fresh lemon slice, or a few cloves, if desired.
Sip slowly while warm.
Notes
Adjust the amount of honey and lemon to your personal preference.
For a spicier version, add a pinch of ground cinnamon or a few whole cloves to the mug.
Some people like to steep a tea bag (like black tea or chamomile) in the hot water before adding it to the mug for an extra layer of flavor.
