A warming and soothing drink perfect for cold nights or when you feel under the weather. This recipe balances whiskey, honey, lemon, and hot water for a comforting beverage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz whiskey or bourbon
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 46 oz hot water
  • Optional: cinnamon stick, lemon slice, or cloves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Warm a mug by filling it with hot water and letting it sit for a minute, then discard the water.
  2. Pour the whiskey or bourbon into the warmed mug.
  3. Add the fresh lemon juice and honey to the mug.
  4. Fill the mug with hot water, leaving a little space at the top.
  5. Stir gently until the honey is dissolved.
  6. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, a fresh lemon slice, or a few cloves, if desired.
  7. Sip slowly while warm.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of honey and lemon to your personal preference.
  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of ground cinnamon or a few whole cloves to the mug.
  • Some people like to steep a tea bag (like black tea or chamomile) in the hot water before adding it to the mug for an extra layer of flavor.
  • This drink is best enjoyed immediately.
