Ingredients
Scale
1 ball pizza dough
1/2 cup pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sliced black olives
1/4 cup sliced pepperoni
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a circle, about 12-14 inches in diameter.
Transfer the dough to a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal or directly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
In a small bowl, mix the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the sauce.
Arrange the black olive slices to create the eyes and nose of the jack-o’-lantern face.
Use the pepperoni slices to create a jagged mouth. You can cut them into smaller pieces if needed to form the desired shape.
If you want to add a pumpkin stem, you can shape a small piece of extra dough at the top of the pizza or use a piece of green bell pepper.
Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a more vibrant orange color, use more cheddar cheese or add a drop of orange food coloring to the cheese mixture.
You can use other toppings like mushrooms or green peppers for the facial features if you prefer.
This pizza is a great activity for kids to help decorate.
