Transform your leftover Halloween candy into decadent, ooey-gooey brownies. This recipe incorporates chopped candy bars for bursts of flavor and texture, creating a fun and indulgent post-holiday treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chopped leftover Halloween candy bars (chocolate-based candies like Snickers, Milky Way, Reese’s, M&M’s work best)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Gently fold in 1.5 cups of the chopped candy bars.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of chopped candy bars over the top of the batter.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  10. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For best results, use chocolate-based candy bars. Gummy candies may not bake well.
  • If your candy bars are very soft, you can freeze them for about 15-20 minutes before chopping to prevent them from completely melting into the brownies.
  • These brownies are best enjoyed within 2-3 days.
