- 12 mini bagels or English muffins, split
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or string cheese pulled into thin strips
- 12–24 black olive slices or small pepperoni pieces for eyes
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the bagel or muffin halves on a baking sheet.
- Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce evenly over each half.
- Arrange the mozzarella strips in a criss-cross pattern over the sauce to resemble mummy bandages. Leave small gaps for the eyes.
- Place two olive slices or pepperoni pieces on each pizza to create the mummy’s eyes.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the base are lightly toasted.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For string cheese, pull it apart into very thin strands to make it easier to create the mummy effect.
- Don’t use too much cheese, or it will melt into a solid blob. You want to see the strands.
- These are best served warm.
